It’s about damn time. The past few years we have suffered from a phenomenon that our friend Julya calls “Japril”: when it still feels like January in April. Now that Japril is dead and gone we finally have some spring in the air. The hummingbirds and swallows are back and on sunny days my bees come out and zoom around the yard.
There are chicks in our spare bathroom’s bathtub. (Baby Barred Rocks.)
The apple trees in the front yard are blooming.
And the garden plot has finally been plowed. Seed packets have been arriving in the mail every day for a week! Potatoes are chitting on top of the dryer. Soon we can start planting!
