So, yes, this is what I wore on Friday – not what I’m wearing right now. Matt works four tens and since I have access to the computer all week I cede it to him when he gets home. But sometimes he parks in front of it and stays there all weekend. (Like I don’t do that during the week.) So this is my first time back to the blog since Thursday. (I need to use the post scheduler more often.)
Every Friday night is “date night”. We don’t usually go anywhere fancy. Sometimes – like when there’s snow – we don’t leave the house at all. But whatever we do I like to dress up a little so it feels like an occasion. (Even Denny’s can feel fancy when you’re wearing velvet or heels or a petticoat.)
Shirt: Banana Republic (thrifted)
Skirt: Merona (thrifted)
Tights: Legale (Fred Meyer)
Boots: Mudd (Famous Footwear yeeeears ago)
Jacket: Abercrombie & Fitch (thrifted)
Gloves: ? (antique mall)
I bought the gloves the same day because we worked our way through town on our way to dinner, doing errands and bullshitting with Frank at the gun store. He sent us to check out a new second hand store that had some Army surplus stuff and while we were there I insisted we nip into the antique mall next door. The gloves are in great condition and the sides are ruched above the slit. No tag.
Sorry about the snooty look – I was trying to look at the camera but also tilt my head to show the doodad on the side of the hat.
Actually, this is what I wore on Friday, for “date night”. There was also a long black Mossimo coat, but I could hear Matt putting on his boots in the other room and making loud hints about how hungry he was, so I was trying to be quick and I didn’t get a shot of that.

I love that silly-ass hat.
I look like I should be flying out on Serenity, don’t you think? Sort of a half Zoe, half Kaylee kind of thing. Well, maybe 70% Kaylee 30% Zoe.

Today’s pictures were taken by balancing the camera on the edge of a dresser drawer. Better, but still not quite right. I’ll keep trying, because for some sick reason I’m enjoying these posts, but I don’t know if they’ll become a permanent part of the “new” blog.
I can’t see anything without my glasses and I don’t have any contacts so I’m going to tell people at the party that they are safety glasses.

Have pity on me. I don’t mean my fashion sense – I’m pretty secure about that these days – but my photography skills. Would you believe that this is only the second time in my life I’ve taken a selfie? I’m sure I’ll figure it out. (And if I don’t then you’re spared “WIWT” posts!)
